EVHubNI is Northern Ireland's first dedicated electric vehicle marketplace, operated as a sole trader based in Northern Ireland. Our website is www.evhubni.co.uk.

2. What Data We Collect
We collect different data depending on how you use EVHubNI:
Account registration
- Full name and email address
- Password (stored encrypted — we cannot read it)
- Account type (buyer, private seller, or dealer)
Listing a vehicle
- Vehicle registration number (used to query the DVLA API — see section 5)
- Vehicle details: make, model, year, mileage, colour, price, location
- Battery health, range, and charging data you provide
- Photos and videos you upload
- Your town, county, and postcode
Buyer enquiries
- Name, email address, and phone number
- Your message to the seller
Saved listings and saved searches
- Which listings you save and search criteria you store
- Your email preferences for price drop and saved search alerts
EV Suitability Quiz
- Your quiz answers (anonymous unless you provide your email)
- Email address if you opt in to receive your results
Dealer enquiries
- Name, dealership name, email, and phone number from the dealer contact form
Technical data
- Anonymous usage analytics (page views, performance data) via Vercel Analytics
- IP address for security and fraud prevention

4. How We Store Your Data
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, with encryption at rest and in transit. Data is stored on servers located within the European Union.
We retain your data as follows:
- Account data — until you delete your account
- Vehicle listings — until you remove the listing, plus 30 days
- Enquiry messages — 2 years from the date of enquiry
- Quiz leads — 1 year from submission
- Dealer enquiries — 2 years from submission
- Analytics data — 90 days (anonymous, non-personal)
5. DVLA API
When you use our VRT Check Tool or list a vehicle using a registration number, we send your vehicle registration number to the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service API to retrieve publicly available vehicle details. We do not store the raw registration number unless you proceed to create a listing. The DVLA's own privacy notice applies to their processing of this request.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database and authentication (EU servers)
- Vercel — website hosting and anonymous analytics
- DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service — vehicle data lookup
- OpenChargeMap — charging point location data (anonymous API calls)
- Zoho Mail — email delivery
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
7. Cookies and Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to collect anonymous, aggregated data about how visitors use the site (page views, load times). This data cannot identify you personally and does not use cookies.
We use essential session cookies required for authentication and security. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of your data
- Restriction — limit how we use your data
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from emails at any time

9. Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) within 72 hours as required by UK GDPR.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes we will notify registered users by email and update the date at the top of this page.
